Matt Myers combines more than 20 years of law enforcement experience with specialized education in toxicology and pharmacology to offer a unique perspective on drug impairment education. He has served as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Instructor and holds a master’s degree in clinical toxicology from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. His academic background also includes advanced studies through other academic and forensic science institutions, including the Center for Forensic Science Research & Education and Harvard Medical School Extension. He is also the founder of DrugImpairment.com, an e-learning platform that connects toxicologists, law enforcement officers, and forensic practitioners with industry-leading instructors on drug impairment topics.
Matt holds appointed positions with several professional associations, providing scientific and technical input on topics related to drug impairment, sobriety testing, and industry best practices. He serves on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Roadway Safety Committee and the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Technical Advisory Panel, which oversees the scientific direction, curriculum, and standards of the NHTSA sobriety testing programs. He is also a past Chair of the IACP DRE Section, a member of the National Safety Council’s Alcohol, Drugs, and Impairment Division, and serves on the American Academy of Forensic Sciences' Toxicology Consensus Body.
